Our Vision

At MSA, we envision a world where every student has the opportunity to achieve their full potential despite any developmental disabilities/sensory issues, or their fear of the water.

Using the Developmental Relationship-Based Intervention (DRBI) technique, every lesson is customized to fit the students needs and goals.

By giving the students “complete control” over their lessons, they become safe, confident and motivated swimmers. After all, a happy student is a thriving student!!!

Our History

MSA was Founded in 2021 by Megan Morrisey. Coach Megan has over 20 years experience in safety/swim lessons. Coach Megan also has over 5 years of experience in Developmental Behaviors and OT from her work with children on the spectrum.

While employed at traditional swim schools, Coach Megan noticed some students had difficulties following their programs and was able to design a program to accommodate all styles of learning/understanding.

Coach Megan also understands her targeted students on a personal level as well. Navigating life from the 80’s until her early 30’s (undiagnosed with ADHD) had its ups and downs. Coach Megan never wants another person to feel the way she did most of her life and decided to combine these tools with her passion for swimming and water safety and thus the culture of MSA was born.

Our Coaches

Our coaches are passionate about coaching and committed to their students' success. Coaches are trained in water safety, swim strokes, and developmental differences/sensory issues. During the first lesson, our coaches get to know each student to analyze the level they are on and individual learning styles. We use the questions you answer during registration to help us engage your students and build that relationship with them. Our coaches use innovative methods, like playing games, to help the students meet their goals. We have structured lesson plans for those students who need structure, however we can always adjust our plans to fit each student’s needs. Our coaches make sure the comfort of our students comes first by communicating with and encouraging them when asking them to go outside that comfort level. Our methods of coaching can also be used in everyday life, and everyday life can be used to teach water safety/swimming.

Our Locations/Seasons

MSA is year-round at our indoor location off

Davis Mill Road, Germantown MD.

  1.  While there is no commitment for lessons and you can drop at any time, payment for the month is due on the first of the month and will be automatically charged to your credit card on file (required on registration). This is to ensure the pool rental is paid per our contract as we have to pre pay monthly.
  2. Tuition will be billed pro-rated, if you enroll after the first of the month, in the amount of lesson days left that month.
  3. If MSA cancels a lesson, you will be given a makeup and either credited towards your next month or refunded based on your current circumstances.
  4. If you schedule your absence(s) at least 3 days in advance and are unable to use your makeups that month, you can carry the makeups over, or the tuition will be applied to the next month's lessons and the makeups will be deleted.
  5. Makeups recorded less than 3 days prior to the missed lesson will be credited if we were able to fill that lesson with another student's makeup, or based on the circumstances causing the absence.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at MorriseySwimAcademy@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

All lesson times and locations are available to enroll into after registration through  this link https://app.jackrabbitclass.com/regv2.asp?id=549329

We coach all students from 3 months to 100+ years old.

MSA is about comfort first, therefore if your child is most likely to be more comfortable with you in the water than yes. However we are firm believers in Independence and will work with you and your student to remove you from the water during lessons.

MSA is a small business and in order to give the students the best opportunities for progression, we ask that guardians use the Parent Portal to the best of their abilities. Our office hours are Mondays from 9-2 and we may not be able to accommodate you before your scheduled lesson. We will try to answer emails daily, but the request may have to wait until the following Monday.

The Parent Portal allows guardians to:

    1. Check in for their lesson. This is to ensure billing is correct every month and that our records match should there be a question or concern.
    2. Schedule Absences. If the absence is not recorded you have forfeited that day's tuition to cover the cost of that half hour's expenses, as we were unable to fill that slot last minute.
    3. Schedule Makeups. Every student that misses a class, no matter the reason, will be given a makeup. Refunds will not be given if you fail to use your makeups.
    4. Update Payment. No need to give out personal information over the phone when Jackrabbit is a secure software.

If for some reason you are unable to use the Parent Portal exceptions can be made. Please email MorriseySwimAcademy@gmail.com for questions.
